Lean Manufacturing

Lean manufacturing grew out the Toyota Production System that allowed Toyota to improve production efficiencies.

There are many practices that were developed in this system. At its core, it enables a more adaptive and organic manufacturing process, supporting ongoing improvements of efficiencies that utilized the intelligence inherent within the entire system. This adaptability was in contrast with rigidly engineered systems of traditional manufacturing management.

This culture of team-based value creation became the foundation for Scrum, one of the key frameworks of Agile.
